We met for Lunch at the Mayflower Chineese Buffet on First Ave in Evansville and then took a very slow drive down into the bottoms area along the Ohio River. We passed many river camps and drove several miles before being forced to turn around where the road turned to gravel. Returning north along the river we made it to Dogtown where we turned west and drove to West Franklin for a short pit stop at a family river camp. Winding our way north-west past the power plant we joined Highway 62 and drove to Mt. Vernon where we stopped at the DQ for refreshments. The final leg of the drive took us north from Mt. Vernon, thru the country returning to the Evansville area and ending the drive at the park located at the entrance to the 4H grounds. We were never more than 20 air-miles from our starting point, but we traveled about 100 miles total for this drive.
