Spring Mill State Park
It was perfect weather for a top-down drive, clear skys and 80°F. Starting in Evansville, Indiana we traveled 2-lane roads east thru Warrick, Spencer and Perry counties. Then up thru the Hoosier National Forest in Crawford and Orange counties to Spring Mill State Park, just east of Mitchell Indiana. Picnic lunch in the park, walking in the Pioneer Village, demonstration of the working Grist Mill, pottery making, gardens, blacksmith making tools, musicians in the open areas - a wonderful afternoon. Finally a hike down 212 steps and rocky trails to Donaldson Cave. Then back home before dark via 2-lane roads in Amish country. 206 miles.
